Yes. MBBS degrees from top Russian medical universities listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools are recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India. Students must clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) or NEXT exam upon return to practice in India. Over 20,000 Indian students currently study medicine in Russia, making it the most popular destination for Indian medical aspirants abroad.
The MBBS program (called General Medicine / MD) in Russia is 6 years including a one-year internship. The medium of instruction is English at all our partnered universities. In Uzbekistan, the program is also 6 years with English-medium curriculum at NMC-recognized universities.
Yes. As per NMC guidelines effective from 2023, Indian students seeking to study MBBS abroad must have cleared NEET-UG. There is no minimum NEET cutoff for admission to foreign medical universities, but students must have passed NEET to be eligible to return and practice in India. NEET qualification also opens doors to government scholarships for study abroad programs.
Tuition fees at top Russian medical universities range from approximately ₹2.5 to ₹5 lakhs per year, making the 6-year total cost significantly lower than private medical colleges in India. Living expenses add approximately ₹1–2 lakhs per year. All costs are shared transparently during your counseling session.
Our counselors analyze your academic profile (NEET score, Class 12 marks), budget, and preferences to shortlist 2–3 best-fit universities in Russia or Uzbekistan. We only recommend NMC/WHO-recognized institutions with a strong track record of producing successful FMGE candidates. We also consider factors such as climate, city safety, student community, hostel facilities, and alumni feedback before making a recommendation.
Yes, you can practice in India after clearing the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Exam) or the upcoming NExT (National Exit Test). After passing, your degree is registered with the NMC and you can apply for a medical license in any Indian state. Many of our alumni who studied abroad have successfully cleared FMGE and are currently practicing or pursuing post-graduation (MD/MS) in India.
Yes, all our partnered Russian medical universities offer the MBBS (General Medicine) program fully in English. Students do not need to know Russian for academic studies. However, a basic understanding of Russian is helpful for patient interaction during clinical postings, and many universities include a Russian language module as part of the curriculum to assist with this.
Medical universities in Russia and Uzbekistan have one primary intake each year, typically starting in September–October. The admission process involves submitting academic documents (Class 10 & 12 marksheets, NEET scorecard), receiving an Admission Confirmation, and then applying for a student visa. The entire process from application to departure takes approximately 6–10 weeks if documents are ready. We recommend beginning counseling in May–June for September intake.
All our partnered universities provide on-campus hostels with 24/7 security and dedicated Indian student coordinators. Facilities typically include furnished rooms, Wi-Fi, common kitchen, and study areas. Many cities also have Indian restaurants, temples, and active Indian student communities. We conduct thorough due diligence on accommodation quality before recommending any university to our students.
FMGE pass rates vary by university and individual preparation. Nationally, the overall FMGE pass rate hovers around 15–25%, but students from top-tier universities we recommend consistently achieve 30–45% and above. We strongly advise students to begin FMGE preparation from Year 3 onwards and use structured coaching programs. We also connect returning graduates with FMGE coaching resources as part of our post-graduation support.
